This position plays a key role in shaping students’ futures by mentoring small groups of students, reviewing material with one-on-one with students, providing instructional support activities to students that are designed by the teacher, collecting assessment data and supervising the academic work of students. The position will also assist in preparing curriculum materials, grading papers, and tracking attendance.

Responsible for the design and implementation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student assigned to the classroom. Responsible for assessing the functioning level of each student and for developing and implementing goals and objectives based on this assessment. Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the program and participating in the students’ interdisciplinary IEP team meeting.

Is responsible for teaching concepts and skills in foods and nutrition, clothing and textiles, home management, family relationships, and consumer education to secondary pupils; utilizing courses of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning activities.
